HVAC Technician (Night Shift)

Position: HVAC TechnicianLocation: Wilton, CTShift: Night Shift – Mon to Fri – 6:00 pm to 6:00am (2/2/3)Employment: Contract to HirePay Rate: Competitive, based on experiencePosition Description:We are seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician to join our client’s facilities maintenance team. In this role, you’ll perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems while also supporting general building maintenance in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with a variety of commercial HVAC systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician looking to advance their career with a reputable organization that values expertise, reliability, and professional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC systems, including split systems, package units, and boilers.Inspect, clean, and service components such as belts, pulleys, motors, compressors, coils, and condensate drain lines.Safely handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA and OSHA standards.Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system failures efficiently.Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC motor controls and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Conduct airflow and duct inspections, making necessary adjustments and repairs.Complete detailed service reports and documentation through mobile technology (tablet/smartphone).Collaborate with team members, vendors, and customers to ensure timely and quality service.Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and company policies.Support additional facilities maintenance activities as needed, including light electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs.Required Skills & EducationHigh school diploma or trade certification required; associate degree or technical certification in HVAC or related field preferred.5 years of experience servicing commercial or industrial HVAC systems.EPA Universal Certification required.Strong understanding of HVAC controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles.Ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and building codes.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.Preferred QualificationsExperience with building automation systems (BAS).Multi-trade skills in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical maintenance.Prior experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.Seneca Resources:At Seneca Resources, we’re more than a staffing and consulting firm — we’re your career partner.
