Position Description: We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to support commercial customer sites across the local region. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, customer interaction, and delivering high-quality building services.
You will travel locally using a company-provided vehicle to perform maintenance on commercial facilities, equipment, and grounds. The ideal candidate brings strong multi-trade experience—carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC basics—and enjoys working independently while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
This role offers steady, year-round work, diverse daily tasks, and opportunities to grow your technical skill set in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete preventative, corrective, and general maintenance tasks according to work orders and safety standards.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, including clearing clogs, replacing valves, repairing toilets/urinals, and maintaining automatic flush systems.
- Conduct carpentry and painting tasks to keep facilities in “like-new” condition (e.g., drywall repair, door and floor maintenance, touch-ups, paint matching).
- Perform minor electrical repairs allowed under state guidelines (e.g., fixture replacement, outlet/switch repair, bulb/ballast/socket replacement).
- Conduct facility and asset inspections as required.
- Use company technology (tablet/smartphone) to complete work orders, submit service reports, upload inspection images, and track time and expenses.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to ensure satisfaction and professional service delivery.
- Attend required safety training, meetings, and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Provide estimates for larger on-site repair needs.
- Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in trades (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Facilities Maintenance, Landscaping, or Specialty Floor Care) preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in general maintenance, building services, or commercial facilities operations.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, including basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret written instructions, safety guidelines, and maintenance manuals.
- Proficiency with basic technology, including handheld devices, MS Office, email, and work-order systems.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to comply with all building, safety, and regulatory standards, including OSHA compliance.
- Must be able to travel locally between customer sites daily.
