Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance the ADPH Vital Statistics System.
- Develop, modify, and maintain RPG applications.
- Analyze existing systems and assist with application design and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production application issues.
- Debug applications and perform issue resolution.
- Perform application testing, validation, and quality assurance.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Support enterprise metrics initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support for business-critical legacy applications.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of verifiable RPG programming experience.
- RPG experience must include work performed within the last 12–15 years.
- Strong hands-on experience with the IBM AS400 platform.
- Experience supporting business-critical applications.
- Strong systems analysis and design experience.
- Application development and maintenance experience.
- Production support, troubleshooting, and debugging experience.
- Testing and quality assurance experience.
- Strong technical documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be eligible for Alabama State Merit System employment.
