What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Controller position at Selby Jennings?
Currently representing an expanding global commodity trading company- specializing in oil & gas. This firm is in search of a Financial Controller in the Beverly Hills area. This individual will oversee all accounting functions, provide strategic insights, and ensure compliance. Given that the firm is growing- this role will eventually manage international financial operations and compliance.

COMP - $160-180k
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS standards
- Develop strategies to mitigate currency exchange rate risks and manage foreign currency exposures.
- Lead the prep and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements. Including consolidating financial statements for the entire company and its subsidiaries.
- Help implementation of international accounting operations while company grows globally
- Partner with the CEO to provide financial insights / advise strategic decision-making
- Safeguard company assets
- Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors.
- Manage international tax planning and compliance, including transfer pricing and VAT.
- Direct all accounting operations

- Oversee the monthly close process in a timely manner
- Strengthen internal controls.
- Lead small accounting team
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit, operational, and compliance risks.
Qualifications:
- CPA REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting related field
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS and internal controls
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Prior experience in the fuel/gas distribution industry strongly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage change in a growing organization.
Salary : $160,000 - $180,000
