What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Financial Officer position at Segrera Associates?
Segrera associates is working on a Chief Financial Officer position. This Chief Financial Office needs to be comfortable navigating a family owned business and is comfortable working in a hands on environment. The CFO ensures that all financial and managerial accounting policies and procedures are carried-out in a consistent, timely and efficient manner. Prepares financial statements in accordance with GAAP and ensures the accuracy of the books and records, maintains cash controls, and supervises accounting personnel. Also responsible for coordination and compliance of regulatory filings, preparation and oversight of budgets, preparation of interim and year-end financial reports, coordination of year-end audits and tax return preparation and presentations to the Board of Directors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Oversee the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, salary and wages, general ledger, account maintenance and accurate data entry.
- Interacts with operational management to provide support in planning new initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations.
- Prepares financial statements, cash flows, reports, analyses, and information reports as needed and for presentation to Board of Directors
- Ensures record systems are maintained accurately and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ensures regulatory filings are completed accurately and timely
- Establishes and maintains appropriate internal control safeguards.
- Communicates and coordinates accounting practices, procedures, and instructions within the department, and with other managers
- Performs monthly GL and subsidiary ledgers reconciliations, reconciles bank accounts, posts GL Entries for required business transactions such as depreciation and reversing entries
- Coordinates year end audits with certified public accounting firms compiling all schedules and reports needed and supports accounting firm on preparation of annual tax returns
- Provides support and trains employees on accounting systems.
- Maintains accounting instructions for Quality Management System.
- Oversee financial performance of company; creates, coordinates and evaluates financial programs, including budgeting, tax planning, real estate, and conservation of assets.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises 3 to 5 employees directly
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
Accounting degree (BA), from four-year college or university, Master of Accounting and/or certified public accountant's license or 10 or more years related experience and managerial training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary : $250,000 - $325,000
