What are the responsibilities and job description for the VOCAL MUSIC TEACHER - MIDDLE SCHOOL - PART-TIME position at Seattle Academy (SAAS)?

We invite you to join our team in making this mission a reality for our students as a part-time (20%) Middle School Vocal Music teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You would be joining a Performing Arts department of 17 teachers.
Teachers at Seattle Academy foster confidence, persistence, and curiosity in young learners. Instruction is student-centered and developmentally responsive, with strong relational support, and candidates will work with a diverse population of learners.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach one section of 8th Grade Vocal Ensemble during the fall trimester.
- Serve as Co-Music Director for the Middle School Musical during winter trimester, which rehearses during the day as a class.
- Teach one section of 7th Grade Vocal Ensemble during the spring trimester.
- Design and deliver lessons aligned with departmental learning goals.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support diverse learners.
- Incorporate assessment practices to provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Foster a classroom environment that supports risk-taking, collaboration, and growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment practices, and student support.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with students, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Middle School teaching experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree required; master’s degree preferred.
