What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Water Resources Specialist I position at Searchpros Staffing?
Onsite in San Jose CA (20- 40 hours a week)
Under the supervision of the Program Administrator, provide support for the development & testing of the SMP3 application by:
- Drafting requirements based on team discussions
- Developing and executing test plans
- Supporting the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the SMP3 database and subsystems
Additionally, support SMP Program implementation by:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of the annual Notice of Proposed Work (NPW) and Annual Summary Report (ASR)
- Supporting coordination efforts related to water quality monitoring, and sediment testing, reuse, and disposal
- Assisting with SMP database administration and Maximo integration, including maintenance of all data related to SMP reporting, water quality monitoring, and sediment sampling
- Collaborating with technical staff to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the SMP database
Qualifications include strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations; and demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to analyze, interpret, summarize, and present technical information and datasets clearly and effectively. The ideal candidate will be proficient in GIS and familiar with databases and cloud-based applications.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred, with major coursework in water resources management, natural resources management, planning, civil or related engineering fields, geology, physical sciences, earth sciences, and/or other natural sciences.
Ability to pass Background, Drug Screen and if applicable Medical Screenings (i.e. Vision, Hearing, or Physical) if Required by Client.
