Operations Planner
Location: Olive Branch, MS
About the Role
Our client is seeking an Operations Planner to support transportation, inventory, and customer service operations in a fast-paced logistics environment. This position will coordinate shipments, resolve issues, track deliveries, and support process improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Provide transportation rate quotes for expedited and non-standard shipments.
- Coordinate order registration and identify special requirements such as additional labor or equipment.
- Track shipments and ensure timely pickup and delivery.
- Monitor service issues and document appropriate reason codes for reporting.
- Work directly with customers to resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, and other shipment exceptions.
- Communicate updates and resolutions to customers and internal teams.
- Assist with documenting processes and developing standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer service.
- Support inventory management and other operational needs as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous customer service and logistics experience with strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating transportation, shipments, or deliveries.
- Telecommunications site delivery coordination experience is a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for tracking and analysis.
- Comfortable working with inventory through RF, portal, and manual systems.
- Understanding of transportation modes, service levels, and delivery requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in an office environment and traveling to the warehouse as needed.
- Strong communication and follow-through.
