SDL is partnering with a growing real estate company in Salem, NH to find the right person for a Staff Accountant opening. The company is fast-paced, collaborative, and this role offers meaningful exposure to leadership, and an aggressive growth track as the business continues to expand.
The Staff Accountant will support the accounting and finance team with day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role is ideal for a 2-3 year accounting professional who wants hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow with a rapidly scaling organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare accounts payable reconciliations and tie subledger to the general ledger
- Handle month-end close, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Analyze variances and research discrepancies - specifically at property level
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and schedules
- Participate in process improvements and accounting system enhancements
- Perform ad hoc accounting analysis and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-4 years of general accounting or real estate accounting experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals]
- Proficiency in Excel; ERP system experience strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
