Medical Billing Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Billing Specialist for one of our healthcare clients. This position is onsite in East Northport, New York.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role supports a busy healthcare practice by managing medical billing, claims processing, and receivables. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in billing workflows, including claims, appeals, and reimbursement tracking. This is a short-term opportunity with the potential to transition, focused on improving billing efficiency and collections performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage end-to-end medical billing processes, including claims submission, tracking, and follow-up
• Review and process EOBs, remittances, and reimbursement documentation
• Handle claims denials, appeals, and receivables to ensure timely collections
• Utilize billing systems to maintain accurate patient and financial records
• Support IDR processes in compliance with state and federal requirements
• Collaborate with internal team members to resolve billing discrepancies and improve workflows

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong hands-on experience in medical billing and claims management
• Required knowledge of State and Federal IDR processes
• Experience handling claims, appeals, and accounts receivable workflows
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
• Comfortable working with billing systems, EOBs, and remittance processing tools

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
