Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a DSHS Billing and Reimbursement Coordinator for a confidential social services organization supporting Washington State DSHS programs. This position is hybrid-based in Tacoma, Washington, with collaboration across different hubs.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is a high-impact position responsible for managing billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle activities within the ProviderOne Social Service Billing and Payment (SSBP) system. The ideal candidate will specialize in non-medical social service billing, with strong knowledge of DSHS programs and compliance requirements. This individual will ensure accurate claims processing, timely reimbursements, and strict adherence to contract and audit standards. Success in this role is measured by billing accuracy, compliance integrity, and efficient reimbursement cycles.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage billing and reimbursement processes within ProviderOne SSBP for non-medical social service claims
  • Track, reconcile, and report agency revenues and reimbursements including mileage and client-related expenses
  • Monitor DSHS authorizations and ensure compliance with contract-allowable billing and expense guidelines
  • Conduct internal pre-billing audits of service documentation, case notes, and expense records for accuracy and compliance
  • Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims, ensuring timely resubmission and correction of billing issues
  • Maintain high billing accuracy standards with a target of 95%–100% weekly claim success rate


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hands-on experience with ProviderOne SSBP or similar social service billing systems
  • Direct experience working with DSHS programs including ALTSA, HCS, AAA, and CCG
  • Strong understanding of non-medical social service billing, reimbursement, and compliance requirements
  • Experience reconciling payments, managing expense reimbursements, and handling billing discrepancies
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers a competitive hourly range of $35.00 – $40.00 DOE, along with a hybrid work arrangement and the opportunity to support essential state-funded social service programs. Additional benefits and organizational perks may be discussed during the interview process.
