Certified Billing and Coding Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist for an established clinic in Rochester, NY. This position is 100% onsite at the clinic’s Rochester office.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This Certified Billing & Coding Specialist role provides advanced support to a high-volume interventional psychiatry practice, ensuring accuracy in complex coding and high-cost procedure billing. This specialist will lead denial prevention efforts, strengthen collections workflows, and support clean financial operations. The role is contract-to-hire with immediate onsite interviews and strong conversion potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage end-to-end revenue cycle with advanced coding accuracy for specialty psychiatric procedures
• Lead denial management, identify root causes, and implement process improvements
• Perform detailed coding for TMS, ketamine, medication management, and neuromodulation
• Reduce backlogs, repair complex claims, and drive increased collections
• Collaborate with clinicians on prior auths, documentation needs, and compliance
• Utilize EHR and billing platforms (Jane App, ClaimMD, clearinghouses) to maintain clean workflows

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CPC, CRC, or equivalent)
• Strong background in medical billing, complex coding, and RCM workflows
• Expertise in high-volume claim correction, denial overturns, and insurance follow-up
• Ability to work calmly and analytically in a high-volume specialty environment
• Strong communicator comfortable partnering with clinicians and operations teams

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This role offers $36–$38/hr depending on certification and experience.
