Accounts Payable & HR Specialist

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounts Payable & HR Specialist for a mission-driven, community-centered educational organization. This is a full-year, onsite position based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounts Payable & HR Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the financial, human resources, and administrative operations of a collaborative school environment. This position partners closely with internal teams to ensure accurate accounting processes, smooth HR administration, and reliable operational support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated by contributing to a values-based organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage accounts payable processes, including invoices, purchase orders, payments, and recordkeeping
• Support human resources functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, employee records, and compliance tracking
• Provide payroll support by maintaining PTO records, processing time adjustments, and supporting payroll systems
• Serve as backup support for accounts receivable, including payment processing, deposits, and reconciliations
• Assist with ordering, purchasing, vendor coordination, and annual supply needs
• Support month-end close, budgeting, reporting, audits, and other administrative or financial projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hands-on experience supporting accounting, finance, HR, or administrative operations
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, ADP, Microsoft Excel, and database systems
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers an annual salary range of $58,000–$60,000, commensurate with relevant experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to work in a supportive, mission-driven educational environment.
