Summary
The special assignment driver is responsible for driving a company truck and transporting loads to customer accounts. This role performs short-term driving assignments as needed with short notice. Work assignments consist of local driving, lasting 1 – 5 days at a time.
Essential Functions
- Drives tractor & trailer which may require shifting and use of a clutch on assigned vehicle.
- Responsible for completing the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) noting any defects on assigned equipment, daily Driver Log and Monthly Mileage Report.
- Follow all Federal, State and Local driving regulations and ordinances.
- Use required PPE protective equipment as required which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear, eye, hand protection.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to interact in person with peers and management for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to handle high stress situations
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
