Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Position Overview
This role will serve as the on-site safety lead, responsible for implementing project safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with project leadership to drive a proactive safety culture.
The ideal candidate will bring 3 - 7 years of construction safety experience, with working knowledge of civil, mechanical, structural, and utility scopes commonly associated with water/wastewater infrastructure builds.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
- Provide daily on-site EHS leadership for all construction activities
- Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and client safety requirements
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections, audits, and field observations
- Lead Daily Hazard Analysis (DHA) and Pre-Task Planning (PTP) meetings
- Monitor high-risk work activities including:
- Confined Space Entry
- Excavation & Trenching
- Fall Protection
- Crane & Rigging Operations
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Support environmental compliance related to wastewater construction operations
- Facilitate new hire safety orientations and ongoing toolbox talks
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Track and trend safety metrics, observations, and corrective actions
- Maintain OSHA logs and project safety documentation
- Partner with project management, subcontractors, and client representatives to promote an injury-free workplace
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- 3 – 7 years of construction EHS experience
- Prior experience supporting wastewater, water treatment, or utility projects strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
- Experience leading safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations
- Ability to work independently as the primary on-site safety representative
- Strong communication and subcontractor engagement skills
Certifications (Required / Preferred)
Required:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction
Preferred:
- CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
- STSC or ASP (BCSP Credentials)
- First Aid / CPR / AED
- Confined Space Competent Person Training
- Excavation Competent Person
