Job Summary:
The Practice Assistant provides high-level administrative support to the firm’s Tax and Corporate practice teams, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines in legal processes. This role includes document preparation, calendar management, client file maintenance, and coordination of meetings, filings, and travel. The position is integral to the smooth operation of the practice, contributing to both internal efficiency and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Type, proofread, format, and edit correspondence, memoranda, agreements, and other legal documents; assist with drafting as needed.
- Open and maintain new client and matter files using firm software.
- Calendar case-specific deadlines and coordinate court hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings.
- Prepare documents for filing in State and Federal courts.
- Coordinate with billing or collections personnel on invoices and related communications.
- Maintain email and electronic files using firm software and document management systems.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and conference/video calls.
- Prepare and submit expense and reimbursement reports.
- Utilize software applications to improve workflow efficiency and produce high-quality work.
- Collaborate with colleagues, cluster mates, and professionals across practice areas.
- Liaise with document services for production projects.
- Stay updated on practice-specific laws, rules, processes, and procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Conduct basic research or analysis as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or comparable administrative experience in a law environment.
- Knowledge of probate administration, estate planning, or corporate filings is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and support other practice areas as needed.
- Prior experience with document management systems (e.g., NetDocs) is a plus.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as needed.

- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
