Sark Wire is currently seeking qualified candidates for two key positions at our Upcast Casting Facility:
- Machine Operator
- Lead Operator
Both positions require employees to work a rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet production demands.
Shift Schedule
- 1st Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (5% shift premium)
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (10% shift premium)
Rotating Shift Schedule:
Employees will periodically rotate between shifts based on production needs. For example, an employee may work first shift for several weeks before rotating to second or third shift during the next scheduled rotation.
Machine Operator – Upcast Casting Facility
Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour
- 1st Shift: $20.00/hour
- 2nd Shift: $21.00/hour (includes 5% shift premium)
- 3rd Shift: $22.00/hour (includes 10% shift premium)
Position Summary
As a Machine Operator, you will operate Upcast casting equipment used to produce high-quality copper rod for wire manufacturing. This position is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and continuous production.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate Upcast casting equipment that pours molten copper into molds to produce copper rod.
- Set up, adjust, and monitor casting equipment to meet production and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues during production.
- Perform routine equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct quality inspections and report defects or abnormalities.
- Prepare coils, sort scrap materials, and assist with material handling.
- Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.
- Review laboratory results and make process adjustments as directed.
- Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year of forklift experience required.
- Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding work during 8–12 hour shifts.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Lead Operator – Upcast Casting Facility
Compensation: $60,000–$80,000 annually (Hourly Position)
Position Summary
The Lead Operator oversees daily Upcast casting operations while providing leadership and technical support to Machine Operators. This position ensures production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are consistently achieved while working closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead daily casting operations and coordinate production workflow.
- Support operators with machine setup, troubleshooting, and process adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with production specifications and quality standards.
- Review production reports and laboratory data to improve process performance.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering regarding equipment issues and repairs.
- Assist with training and mentoring Machine Operators.
- Enforce company safety policies and operational procedures.
- Complete production reports and shift documentation accurately.
- Drive continuous improvements in productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
Qualifications
- Previous Upcast casting leadership or Lead Operator experience required.
- Strong knowledge of casting operations or heavy industrial manufacturing.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and support employees in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Work Environment
Employees work in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to:
- High temperatures
- Molten copper
- Industrial chemicals
- Moving mechanical equipment
- Elevated noise levels
Proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other required PPE, must be worn at all times.
