Duties

• Perform thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess visual acuity, eye health, and overall physiology.
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and other ophthalmology-related issues.
• Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or referrals to specialists when necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and proper use of eyewear or contact lenses while providing exceptional customer service.
• Collaborate with optical teams to recommend suitable eyewear solutions and assist in sales efforts when appropriate.
• Follow aseptic techniques during examinations and procedures to ensure patient safety and prevent infections.
• Stay current with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and advancements in ophthalmology to deliver high-quality care.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Optometrist or in a similar role within ophthalmology or optometry clinics.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and common ocular diseases.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye health and patient care procedures.
• Ability to perform vital signs assessments as part of comprehensive examinations.
• Excellent customer service skills combined with sales aptitude for promoting eyewear products and services.
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
