Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments by collecting patient histories, updating medical records, and ensuring HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy.
• Assist with ophthalmic testing procedures including visual acuity tests, refraction, and intraocular pressure measurements using specialized equipment.
• Maintain aseptic technique during clinical procedures to prevent infections and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Support optometrists with clinical tasks like dilation preparation, eye drop administration, and basic ocular examinations based on physiology knowledge.
• Provide excellent patient care by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring a positive clinic experience.
• Collaborate with the team on clinic operations, including inventory management of optical supplies.

Experience

• Previous experience in medical office settings or ophthalmology clinics is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and ophthalmology procedures is essential.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and compliance at all times.
• Prior involvement working with diverse patient populations will be advantageous.
