Controller / Finance Leader

Location: Waterford, MI

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Onsite

Hours: Standard business hours, hands-on leadership role

Compensation: $95,000–$115,000 base bonus opportunity

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, billing, AP/AR, retainage, and cash flow
• Improve reporting and visibility into project profitability and backlog
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes
• Support payroll, compliance, and project-related accounting needs
• Partner with ownership and operations to improve accountability and decision-making
• Assist with future accounting system improvements / ERP transition
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong accounting / finance background with progressive responsibility
• Construction accounting / job cost experience REQUIRED
• Experience with WIP reporting, billing, and project financial management
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills (QuickBooks Enterprise a plus)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• CPA / CCIFP / AIA billing / Davis-Bacon experience is a plus
