About the Role
Samsung E&C America, Inc. is is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Document Controller to join our project team in Taylor, Texas. As we contribute to the construction of a state-of-the-art semiconductor foundry, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of project documentation, facilitating subcontractor communication, and ensuring administrative excellence across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Management & Control:
- Manage comprehensive project documentation, including document numbering, filing, and version control.
- Maintain and update the document logs; coordinate with each discipline for regular updates.
- Control of all incoming and outgoing documents and correspondence.
Cost & Progress Reporting Management:
- Manage monthly progress documentation for the project team, General Contractor (GC), and subcontractors.
- Request, review, and verify subcontractor progress submissions, conducting initial completeness checks to ensure accuracy.
- Support the preparation and consolidation of monthly invoices, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and compliant.
Subcontractor Coordination:
- Act as the primary interface for subcontractors regarding document requirements.
- Request and verify mandatory documentation, including security, insurance, and compliance, and etc.)
- Track submission statuses and conduct follow-ups to ensure timely delivery of all project-required documentation.
Administrative Support & Communication:
- Organize and manage internal team meetings, including room reservations and scheduling.
- Support seamless communication and coordination across various project stakeholders.
- Provide essential translation and interpretation support (Korean/English) to facilitate clear communication between teams.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience (e.g. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction project administration)
- Bilingual Proficiency: Must be fluent in both Korean and English (written and verbal).
- Domain Expertise: Proven experience in document control, project administration, or contract support within the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with construction-specific insurance programs, such as CCIP (Contractor Controlled Insurance Program) or OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program), is highly desirable. Experience with construction estimating systems is preferred. Demonstrated ability to adapt AI tools for improved productivity is preferred.
