Job Description:
Our client, an Am Law 100 law firm specializing in labor and employment law, is seeking an experienced Attorney Practice Coordinator (Legal Secretary) for its Sacramento office. This role supports multiple attorneys in a fast-paced litigation environment and requires a high level of organization, communication, and attention to detail. This is a hybrid position, with 3 days per week in-office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage file organization and legal document production
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal correspondence and filings
- Handle extensive e-filing in state and federal courts
- Maintain and manage multiple attorney calendars, deadlines, and court dates
- Coordinate communication with attorneys, clients, courts, and internal teams
- Prepare and finalize legal documents for filing and service
- Build Tables of Authorities (TOA) and Tables of Contents (TOC)
- Maintain documents in NetDocuments and other systems
- Assist with new client matter intake and administrative processes
- Coordinate document production, transcription, and filings
- Ensure compliance with court rules and civil procedures
Qualifications:
- 10 years of litigation legal secretary or similar experience (supporting multiple attorneys)
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures (ECF)
- Advanced experience with TOA/TOC (Best Authority) required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe
- Experience with NetDocuments, BigHand, or similar document management systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Trial experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
