The Opportunity
We are seeking a New Business Manager to join our commercial team in Chicago. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you will manage your own sales pipeline while leading a Sales Manager based in South America. You will support your team’s development, contribute to regional sales planning, and help drive growth across the Americas. This is a role where leadership and individual contribution are equally important.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales Performance: Own the pipeline from prospecting to closing, working with PSPs, gateways, acquirers/processors, and enterprise merchants.
- Lead and Develop Team Members: Coach your South America-based report to improve skills, product knowledge, and market understanding.
- Foster a Positive Team Culture: Build an inclusive, collaborative team environment that emphasizes accountability, initiative, and high performance.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with onboarding, client success, and marketing teams to ensure smooth client implementation and activation.
- Build Relationships: Develop and maintain trust with decision-makers and key stakeholders, supporting short- and long-term business opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ownership and Drive: Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ability to work independently while maintaining focus and productivity.
- Proven Track Record: Minimum 5 years of experience in payments sales or business development, with a history of meeting or exceeding ambitious targets in fast-paced environments.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Experience developing team members, providing constructive feedback, and supporting growth in remote or hybrid settings.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of fintech payments and the ecosystem across the Americas.
- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to leverage data and metrics to make informed decisions, validate assumptions, and optimize sales processes.
- Communication & Influence: Strong verbal and written skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels, including executives, technical teams, and international colleagues.
