Your role with us
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic assistant nurse manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will support the nurse manager in overseeing daily unit operations, ensuring exceptional standards of patient care, staff engagement and service excellence. You will play a key role in strategic planning, patient flow optimization, quality improvement initiatives and staff development.
As a frontline leader, you will provide guidance and support in the nurse manager’s absence, foster a culture of safety and accountability, and promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical expertise, effective communication skills, and a passion for mentoring and leading diverse teams.
Schedule
The schedule consists of one 12 hour shift and three 8 hour shifts per week. 36 hours/week with occasional flexing up to 40 hours/week. Specific start times and workdays may vary and will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

- Lead initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, patient outcomes, and resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to streamline care delivery.
- Mentor and coach emerging charge nurses.
- Promote shared governance and empower staff to participate in decision making.
- Support clinical excellence through evidence-based practice and continuous education.
- Serve as a liaison between staff leadership.
- Respond to patient and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BSN) – Minimum of BSN or Bachelor’s in a different discipline in conjunction with MSN. Consideration will be given to ADN nurse if agree to complete BSN or MSN within three years of hire into the position. Must sign agreement regarding BSN completion. Must obtain BSN within the three years to remain in the ANM position. ANMs who were hired as an ADN prior to June 2023 and remain in the ANM role, are not required to obtain BSN.
- Current unencumbered license to practice as registered nurse in Oregon.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Two years of acute care RN experience.
