We’re seeking a dynamic nurse manager to oversee our Medical Surgical Unit, a cornerstone of our Adult Health division. This is more than a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to inspire, innovate, and elevate patient care in a collaborative environment.
As Nurse Manager, you’ll have 24/7 accountability for a thriving unit staffed with experienced registered nurses and certified nursing assistants. You will partner closely with peers across adult health specialties and work alongside a supportive leadership team to drive strategic initiatives, optimize workflows, and champion quality outcomes. What you'll do
- Lead and Manage: Provide operational and clinical leadership for a team of over 60, with four assistant nurse managers reporting to you who supervise RNs and CNAs, ensuring excellence in patient care and staff engagement.
- Strategic Oversight: Drive key initiatives such as Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) reduction, emergency department throughput, nurse communication improvements, and workforce optimization.
- Daily Operations: Conduct leadership rounding and participate in morning huddles, review staffing, timecards, and compliance tools, monitor financial performance and resource allocation.
- Talent Development: Mentor and coach staff, facilitate orientation for new hires, and lead performance management programs.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply evidence-based practices, benchmarking, and regulatory compliance to maintain operational excellence.
- Collaborate: Partner with other Nurse Managers and interdisciplinary teams to align with organizational goals and strategies.
- Innovate: Bring energy and creativity to a strong team, fostering a culture of growth and adaptability.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
- Three years of acute care RN experience.
- Two years of progressive management experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Registered Nurse: Current unencumbered Oregon RN license or eligible for licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Oregon.
Additional information
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) preferred.
- American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Nurse Manager & Leader Certification or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Nurse Executive Certification will be required within two years of hire and must be kept valid throughout employment.
