Position Requirements:
- Ultrasound Technologist Experience: 2 year – Required
- Registered General/Vascular Sonographer - Required
- Echo experience - Required
- MUST have experience with ALL ages groups - Required
- MediTech EMR experience - Preferred
- Previous travel experience – Preferred
Education, License
and Certification Requirements:
- ARDMS Certification Required
- BLS Certification from AHA or ARC - Required
Job Description:
- The Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic
exams/procedures in the Ultrasound department in an efficient manner according
to the physician’s order.
- The Sonographer works effectively with patients and physicians and
maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.
- Complete studies in a timely and efficient manner utilizing downtime to
assist others where needed.
- Assures exam charges and 5-day late list are checked daily for the
ultrasound department.
- Organizes workload during high volume to expedite patient care and
communicates to other technologists all pending exams and any pertinent
information.
- Assists the physician in performing radiology procedures.
- Promotes positive relationships at the department level and discusses
concerns with the supervisor, presenting the department in a positive manner to
other employees and staff.
- Maintains supplies with a minimum inventory and develops new methods of
supply utilization.
- Handles equipment in a safe and appropriate manner within guidelines
and policies of WRMC and the Ultrasound/Non-Invasive department. Maintains a
clean work area and follows equipment cleaning policies. Assures exterior
surfaces of the machines are wiped down after each workday and between patients
as appropriate.
- Follows the “on-call” policy by responding to call back within an
acceptable time-frame and arriving in the department within 30 minutes after
being called in.
- Willingly assists with procedures in any area of radiology when needed.
Checks with co-workers during downtime for the need for assistance.
