travel/housing and M&I stipend available for qualified/eligible travelers)

Schedule: 40 hours/week guaranteed, 5 X 8 hr shifts, Monday-Friday, Weekends for call only, 15 call shifts per month
Position Requirements:
- 2 years of Sonographer experience - Required
- Registered Echo/Vascular Sonographer - Required
- Must be able to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast -
Required
- Must be able to perform Echo and Vascular studies (TTE Echocardiograms,
TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler,
arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, Thrombin injections, and vein
mapping exams) - Required
- Able to start own IV - Required
- MediTech Experience – Required
- Previous travel experience – Preferred
Education, License
and Certification Requirements:
- ARDMS - Required
- BLS Certifications - Required
Job Description:
The Sonographer is responsible for performing high quality diagnostic
exams/procedures in the Ultrasound department in an efficient manner according
to the physician’s order. The Sonographer works effectively with patients and
physicians and maintains cooperative relationship with interdepartmental
personnel.
Job Duties:
- Complete studies in a timely and efficient manner utilizing downtime to
assist others where needed.
- Assures exam charges and 5 day late list are checked daily for the
ultrasound department.
- Organizes workload during high volume to expedite patient care and
communicates to other technologists all pending exams and any pertinent
information.
- Assists the physician in performing radiology procedures.
- Promotes positive relationships at the department level and discusses
concerns with the supervisor and presents the department in a positive manner
to other employees and staff.
- Maintains supplies with a minimum inventory and develops new methods of
supply utilization.
- Handles equipment in a safe and appropriate manner within guidelines
and policies of WRMC and the Ultrasound/Non-Invasive department. Maintains
clean work area and follows equipment cleaning policies. Assures exterior
surfaces of the machines are wiped down after each workday and between patients
as appropriate.
- Follow the “on-call” policy by responding to call back within
acceptable time-frame and arriving in the department within 30 minutes after
being called in.
- Willingly assist with procedures in any area of radiology when needed.
Check with co-workers during downtime for need of assistance.
- Follows attendance and tardy policies.
- Follows WRMC dress code and appearance policy.
- Participates in required hospital and department in-services and
meetings.
- Follows safety and infection control policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
