Position Summary
The Aquatics Manager oversees the daily operations of the swim school and leads the aquatics team to deliver safe, high-quality instruction and an excellent experience for families. This role is responsible for staff leadership, scheduling, water safety compliance, and pool operations. The Aquatics Manager works closely with instructors, lifeguards, and leadership to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily swim school operations, including pool activities and class execution
- Manage, train, and support swim instructors and lifeguards
- Create and maintain staff schedules to support class coverage and safety requirements
- Ensure compliance with all water safety, health, and local regulations
- Monitor pool conditions and coordinate maintenance as needed
- Maintain accurate records related to certifications, training, and safety protocols
- Serve as a point of contact for aquatics-related questions from staff and families
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional environment for students and team members
- Partner with management to continuously improve instruction quality and customer experience
Required Qualifications
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Current Lifeguard certification, including CPR, AED, and First Aid
- Strong knowledge of water safety standards and aquatics best practices
- Experience in swim instruction and swimming techniques
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Lifeguard Instructor certification
- Experience using iClassPro or similar scheduling and management systems
- Previous experience managing a swim school or aquatics program
