NALA Pool Management is seeking a Seasonal Aquatics Operations Manager to help oversee the daily operations of multiple community swimming pools throughout the Winchester, Charles Town and Martinsburg areas.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, solving problems, and keeping facilities running smoothly during the busy summer pool season.
With ownership taking on additional responsibilities within the aquatics community, this role will serve as a key leader responsible for helping manage staff, facilities, and day-to-day operations across multiple pool locations.
This is a full-time seasonal role that requires flexibility including evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call availability during the peak summer months.
Key ResponsibilitiesPool Operations
- Oversee daily operations at multiple managed community pools
- Conduct routine facility visits and operational inspections
- Ensure pools operate safely and in compliance with health department regulations
- Assist with seasonal pool openings and closings
- Troubleshoot operational issues and respond to emergencies when needed
Staff Leadership
- Support and supervise lifeguards, pool attendants, and swim instructors
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training seasonal staff
- Help manage staff schedules and coverage
- Lead staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Address performance concerns and promote a professional team culture
Client & Community Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for HOA boards and property managers
- Communicate with community partners regarding operations and needs
- Assist in resolving operational concerns quickly and professionally
Administrative Support
- Track staff certifications and required documentation
- Assist with time approvals and payroll tracking
- Monitor inventory of uniforms, safety equipment, and supplies
- Support scheduling and logistics for training courses such as lifeguard certification and CPR classes
Qualifications
- Previous experience in aquatics, recreation, or facility management preferred
- Lifeguard certification preferred (or ability to obtain prior to the season)
- Certified Pool Operator certification (or ability to obtain prior to the season)
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations
- Reliable transportation to travel between pool sites
Schedule
- Full-time seasonal position (April 1 – September 1)
- 40 hours per week during peak season
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Some on-call availability for operational needs
Compensation
$20–$25 per hour depending on experience
