Position Summary
S3 Solutions One LLC is seeking reliable and motivated Dining Facility Attendants (DFAC Attendants) to support food service operations at a U.S. Air National Guard installation in Meridian.
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly dining facility environment in accordance with contract requirements, public health standards, and military food service regulations. Work is performed in a fast-paced setting during Unit Training Assembly (UTA) weekends.
Compensation - $17.55 per hour ($12.00 wage per hour worked PLUS $5.55 benefit allowance per hour worked)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Dining Room Operations
· Maintain cleanliness of dining areas during meal service, including immediate response to spills and debris
· Wipe, clean, and reposition tables and chairs continuously during meal periods
· Ensure beverage stations, serving lines, and condiment areas remain clean and stocked
· Sweep and mop dining areas after each meal
Dishwashing & Sanitation
· Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing of dishes, utensils, and trays
· Inspect all items for cleanliness and remove damaged or defective items
· Store clean dishes and utensils in designated sanitary areas
Pot & Pan Cleaning
· Wash, sanitize, and return pots, pans, and kitchen utensils to appropriate storage areas
· Maintain cleanliness of pot washing stations, shelves, and equipment
· Ensure timely cleaning to support ongoing food service operations
Facility Cleaning & Housekeeping
· Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, and high-touch surfaces after each meal
· Sweep and mop kitchen, storage, and work areas
· Empty trash receptacles and maintain dumpster areas
· Clean clipper room equipment and surrounding areas
· Inspect and clean grease traps as required to maintain sanitary conditions
Sanitation & Compliance
· Follow all applicable food safety and sanitation standards (including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and military food service guidance)
· Maintain proper personal hygiene and wear required protective equipment
· Handle equipment and utensils in a manner that prevents contamination
· Support quality control inspections and adhere to contract performance standards
Performance Standards
· Dining facility and galley areas remain clean, sanitary, and inspection‑ready at all times.
· Food service and dining areas meet USCG sanitation and cleanliness standards after each meal.
· Equipment, floors, and surfaces are free of visible debris, grease, and residue.
· Customer service is professional, courteous, and responsive.
· Deficiencies identified by supervision or the COR are corrected promptly and at no additional cost to the Government.
Minimum Qualifications
· Ability to pass a background check and obtain installation access
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Mississippi Food & Beverage Worker Permit
· Ability to pass required medical screening and maintain annual physical
· Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs)
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow sanitation procedures
Work Schedule - Intermittent
· Work is performed during Unit Training Assembly (UTA) weekends
· Typical schedule includes:
· Saturday and Sunday shifts, once per month as required
· Approximately 6-hour shifts per day (based on operational requirements)
· Occasional Friday shifts may be required for Super UTA events
Work Environment
· Fast-paced commercial kitchen and dining facility environment
· Exposure to heat, moisture, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment
· Requires adherence to strict sanitation and safety standards
Working Conditions
· Indoor work in dining facility, galley, scullery, storage, and food preparation areas.
· Exposure to cleaning chemicals, food service equipment, hot surfaces, and wet floors.
· Must comply with OSHA, USCG safety standards, and sanitation requirements at all times.
