Job Overview

We are looking for part-time Mess Attendants in the Columbus, Ohio area. Work will be performed at the Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base. This position reports to the President.

Compensation

$16.45 per hour wages PLUS $5.55 per hour for benefits = $22.00 per hour.

**Estimated gross pay for one weekend (Sat & Sun, 6 hrs per day) is $264.00**

Work Schedule

Workdays: Friday (as needed), Saturday and Sunday, one weekend per month

Work Hours: 8:30 am – 2:30 pm

Duties and Responsibilities

Dining Room

· Clean and fill napkin holders and salt/pepper/sugar shakers.

· Sweep and mop floors.

· Clean and sanitize all dining tables and chairs.

· Clean all carts, sinks, walls, ledges and windows.

· Remove trash, including breaking down boxes.

Kitchen

· Sweep and mop floors in kitchen and walk-in refrigerator and clean floor drains.

· Clean all carts, sinks, walls, ledges and windows.

· Clean exhaust hood and hood filters.

· Remove trash, including breaking down boxes.

Dishroom

· Operate commercial, automatic dishwasher to clean and sanitize dishware, tableware, glasses, trays and cooking utensils.

· Disassemble, drain, clean and properly store dishwasher at the end of service on Sunday.

· Clean and stocker lowerators.

· Sweep and mop floors and clean floor drains.

· Clean all carts, sinks, walls, ledges and windows.

Pots and Pans

· Wash, rinse and store pots, pans and utensils.

· Clean storage racks.

· Sweep and mop floors in kitchen and walk-in refrigerator.

· Clean all carts, sinks, walls, ledges and windows.

Storeroom

· Sweep and mop floors and clean floor drains.

· Clean all carts, sinks, walls, ledges and windows.

· Remove trash, including breaking down boxes.

Qualifications for Mess Attendant

· Must possess one year of experience in food service or janitorial service.

· Good personal hygiene.

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States. Verification via E-Verify is required.

· Completion of successful background check.

· Ability to communicate in English – to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally.

· Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies.

· Must be able to do physical work and operate equipment normally found in food service environment.

· Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team.

· Required to take course and pass certification exam for Serv Safe Food Safety.
