Job Overview

We are looking for a part-time Janitor to support our contract operations with the US Department of Agriculture at Kisatchie Ranger District Office, 229 Dogwood Park Rd, Provencal, LA 71468.

Compensation

$14.45 per hour wages PLUS $5.55 per hour benefits = $20.00 per hour 

Workdays: 2 days per week for 3 hours per day

Work Hours: 7:00 am and 3:30 pm

Schedule will be discussed during interview.

This position reports to the President.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Vacuum all carpeting under/around desks, filing cabinets, computer terminals, windows, and walkways.
• Empty all wastebaskets and other trash receptacles. Place all recycled material, including exterior aluminum trash cans, in the recycle storage unit on back deck.
• Wash and sanitize toilet fixtures, seat, and urinals. Clean and polish sinks. Remove splatters around sinks, counter tops, toilets, and urinals. Treat sinks, urinals and sinks with suitable scale removers, germicides, and non-fragrant deodorant. Wipe/clean mirrors and fixtures. Sweep and damp mop floor with disinfectant. Refill all toilet paper, paper hand towels, soap, and toilet seat dispensers.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen countertop, appliances (including microwave) and sink. Sweep and damp mop kitchen floor with disinfecting cleaner.
• Clean all glass areas including countertop and door in reception area.
• Clean and sanitize drinking fountain.
• Sweep and pick up trash on front and back exterior walkways and porches.
• Spot clean and shampoo carpets.
• Clean windows inside and outside.
• Maintain cleaning charts and checklists indicating areas that were cleaned and inspected.
• Organize and clean janitorial storage areas. Inventory janitorial supplies.
• Notify Office Manager about unsafe conditions or concerning the need for repairs or maintenance.
• Other duties as needed to support operations.

Qualifications for Janitor

• Must be dependable.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to communicate in English – to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally.
• Ability to observe safety and security procedures and to comply with policies.
• Must be able to do physical work and operate equipment normally found in janitorial operations.
• Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team.
