S H Search is partnering with a privately held investment and operating company iand helping to identify a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations across a diverse portfolio of businesses and investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities
• Manage general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee payroll administration and related compliance activities
• Manage cash flow reporting and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Maintain accounting records and reporting within NetSuite and other financial systems
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and scalability
• Support ownership with financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors, and other professional service providers
• Mentor and oversee accounting support staff as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience managing accounting across multiple entities preferred
• NetSuite experience is required
• Experience with payroll processing and related compliance activities
• Strong account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, and close process expertise
• Ability to operate independently in a hands-on environment
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and executive presence

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA designation
• Experience within privately held, entrepreneurial, or investment-backed organizations
• Background supporting multiple business units, locations, or legal entities
• Process improvement and system implementation experience
