Facilitates the direct functioning of other programs by providing the administrative/logistical support, accounting support, and other resources required for the operation of the Healthcare Quality Deputy Area. Responsible for processing of applications and licenses for the assigned caseload. Coordinates directly with Healthcare Quality (HQ) personnel, facilities, and other agencies to acquire limited information. Processes invoices and late fees and processes and mails invoices as needed. Ensures information entered or amended in the database is accurate and current. Manages documents created by the Bureau or received from other sources. Serves as a resource contact for the public, providers, and inspectors; performs support services and provides technical assistance to providers, inspectors, and pending licensees as needed; serves on committees as necessary to make recommendations to management related to licensure issues. Performs other duties as assigned such as, but not limited to, providing backup coverage for the HQ receptionist and the building receptionist. Serves as backup for mail distribution, as needed. Participates in disaster preparedness as outlined in the DPH plan during hazardous weather or declaration of emergency. During such times, the incumbent is designated as an essential employee and subject to duty and/or call on a 24-hour basis.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: An associate's degree, two years of clerical experience, and accounting experience. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license in good standing.

  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications, subject to approval by the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer, or their delegate.**
