This position will be located at Camp Burnt Gin in Sumter County.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of food preparation and service including preparing, cooking and serving food according to menu cycle. Modify meals according to special dietary needs of campers.
- Responsible for all aspects of the cleaning and care of kitchen, food service equipment, pans and dishware. Clean and maintain food preparation and storage areas.
- Follow state health department regulations concerning safe food preparation and facility cleanliness.
- Assist with the opening and closing of camp and the ongoing inventory of food, janitorial and non-food supplies. Assist with the storage of food.
- Must be a high school graduate and have experience and/or training in food preparation and service.
- Must have knowledge of food safety practices.
- Must be able stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
- Must be able to interact effectively with individuals and groups respecting social and cultural diversity and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Camp Burnt Gin is a summer camp for children, teens and young adults who have special health care needs. The job requires employee to stand for extended periods of time.
- Workdays vary according to camp schedule and there are scheduled days off between camp sessions. Some weekend work may be required on occasion. The morning shift work schedule is 7:00 am – 1:30 pm. The afternoon shift is 1:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

- IMMUNIZATION: All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, Varicella, and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
