Analyst – Private Credit Underwriting (Direct Lender Financing)
Our client, a leading global investment bank, is seeking an Analyst to join its Fixed Income Division's Direct Lender Financing (DLF) Asset Approval Team in New York.
This front-office, client-facing role offers the opportunity to underwrite private credit assets supporting asset-based lending facilities provided to leading alternative asset managers. The team works closely with Structuring, Legal, Risk, and institutional clients throughout the transaction lifecycle while monitoring portfolios and supporting ongoing credit decisions.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite private credit loans pledged as collateral in asset-based lending facilities, evaluating borrower fundamentals and eligibility for new asset approvals.
- Review corporate financial statements, credit documentation, and borrower reporting to assess collateral quality.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify credit events impacting valuations and borrowing base eligibility.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding asset approvals, valuation updates, borrowing base reviews, and ongoing reporting.
- Conduct single-name credit research and contribute to sector and manager-level analysis within the private credit market.
- Partner closely with Structuring, Legal, and Risk teams on new transactions and portfolio management.
- Support initiatives focused on AI-driven workflow automation and expanding research capabilities across the platform.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in valuation advisory, leveraged finance, corporate credit analysis, transaction advisory, investment banking, private credit, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role.
- Strong ability to analyze corporate financial statements and assess credit risk.
- Interest in private credit markets, asset-based lending, and institutional finance.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
