Job Description:
Russell Tobin is seeking a Collateral Analyst to join our client’s Fixed Income Team, supporting their growing residential lending business. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional interested in mortgage operations, loan data analysis, and secondary market activity.
The Collateral Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing loan collateral data, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely and precise reporting to internal stakeholders, clients, and third parties. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical aptitude, and effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze custodial collateral data to identify and categorize critical exceptions.
- Review collateral image data to verify document accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with loan sellers and custodians to resolve outstanding exceptions and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized collateral records to support residential loan transactions.
- Generate and distribute internal and external reports detailing collateral status and exception resolution progress.
- Support senior team members in audit preparation and client deliverables.
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in the mortgage industry, with a strong preference for experience related to collateral, document review, or loan operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data management, lookups, and reporting).
- Ability to work efficiently within multiple loan management systems and databases.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
