An opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services in a long-term care and mail order environment. This contract role offers a 13-week assignment with a schedule designed to deliver consistent, quality pharmaceutical care to patients.
Schedule:
- Wednesday to Sunday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Monday to Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Location: West Valley City, UT
Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify over-usage patterns.
- Ensure medication supply and prescriptions meet legal and professional standards.
- Maintain confidential and precise patient records.
- Advise patients on medication usage, potential reactions, and answer inquiries.
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medicines including storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
- Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications, including preparation of sterile solutions following proper protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers to address drug-related patient issues.
Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist License in Washington State.
- Experience in Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Retail pharmacy settings.
