A pharmacy professional opportunity focused on long-term care and mail order environments is available for a skilled pharmacist. This contract role spans 13 weeks and offers a dynamic schedule primarily covering midweek to early weekend shifts.
Location: West Valley City, UT
Schedule:
- Wednesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Saturday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse.
- Maintain precise and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, possible side effects, and answer their questions clearly.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy team members including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare practitioners to identify and resolve drug-related problems for patients.
- Deliver additional health services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Washington State Pharmacist license is mandatory.
- Experience in Long Term Care, Mail Order, or Retail pharmacy settings is required.
