An opportunity is available for a Travel Pharmacist to support a 200-bed community hospital in the Ogden, UT area. This role requires a dedicated professional to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient safety within a hospital setting. The assignment begins ASAP and lasts for 13 weeks with a possible extension.
Schedule:
- 2nd shift: 12:30 PM to 11:00 PM
- 7 days on, 7 days off (Wednesday to Tuesday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance and efficiency
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize patient medication regimens
- Collaborate and consult effectively with physicians and nursing staff
- Utilize hospital information systems including Meditech and Pyxis for medication management
Qualifications:
- Current Utah pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication safety
- Competent in using electronic medical records and automated dispensing systems
