Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our healthcare team in Plano, TX. - Collect and process various biological specimens using aseptic techniques to ensure sample integrity
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Measure and record vital signs accurately for patient assessments
- Assist with research laboratory experiments, maintaining precise documentation of results
- Prepare samples for analysis, including centrifugation, staining, and microscopy
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functioning
- Follow strict safety and infection control standards to uphold aseptic techniques
- Support patient care activities by understanding medical terminology and physiological concepts
- Collaborate with medical staff to interpret laboratory findings relevant to patient diagnosis
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in clinical or research laboratories is required; hospital experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as specimen collection, processing, and analysis
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pathology, and laboratory procedures
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy and specimen handling protocols
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration processes
- Strong understanding of vital signs measurement and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
