Rothe is seeking a Photo Operations Intern to provide institutional film scanning projects and general photographic work requests -related support to the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical content for distribution through digital platforms, and by providing IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. SALARY RANGE: $39,000 - $41,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Rothe is hiring a Photo Operations Intern to support institutional film scanning projects and general photographic work requests. Photo Operations supports multiple work packages and organizations at JSC through the production of photographic print products, film scanning and conversion, digital image manipulation, and image dissemination. The JSC Institutional Film Scanning project has a goal to convert the center’s collection of over 1.5 million film frames to digital files for delivery to the National Archives. During film scanning attention and focus will be directed to image resolution, color, contrast, and accurately recording the official NASA frame number during conversion.
This internship opportunity is at Johnson Space Center (JSC) with work performed on-site in Building 8.
Duties
EDUCATION:
For a College Intern for three months
Currently pursuing a degree
Knowledge and experience working with photographic film, digital image files, Microsoft Office & Teams as well as the ability to work independently. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and a willingness to ask questions are all necessary for success.
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, One Drive); Working knowledge of Photoshop, digital photography file formats, SharePoint, and Box a plus.
