Automation Support Specialist II-2

Role Overview: This position supports distribution services by maintaining and repairing facility equipment and systems. The role involves troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, overseeing system upgrades, and managing spare parts inventory. It requires a strong electrical, mechanical, and electronic knowledge base, including reading CAD layouts, electrical diagrams, and PLC programming. The technician will diagnose and repair equipment such as motors, sensors, and control systems, ensuring optimal operational efficiency. Collaboration, effective communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to mentor colleagues and handle extended hours when necessary.

Responsibilities Include

• Implementing maintenance plans for facility equipment and systems
• Diagnosing errors and repairing Materials Handling Equipment and Automated Picking Systems
• Managing system modifications, upgrades, and assessing equipment efficiency
• Performing routine preventive maintenance to support warehouse productivity
• Maintaining repair records in CMMS/EAM systems and managing spare parts inventory
• Troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water treatment systems
• Diagnosing electrical control issues down to component level, including PLC programming and wiring
• Operating and diagnosing chill water plant systems, HVAC, and BAS
• Mentoring other technicians and communicating effectively across teams
  
  

Qualifications & Skills: Requires technical vocational training or equivalent experience, with at least two years in a related role. Strong electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting skills are necessary, including reading schematics and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of PLC programming, network communication protocols, and computer systems is preferred. Analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve issues efficiently are crucial.
