What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Rosen Hotels & Resorts?
Summary:
The Sales Manager will provide outstanding guest service by building long-term relationships with customers through sales trips, site inspections, solicitation, phone calls, regular account maintenance, and familiarization trips. They will maintain and resolicit accounts while actively seeking new business to increase the hotel's revenue, and comply with Company Standards during all direct sales efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the planning of all aspects of the customers, meetings, and events: room set-up, theming and decorations, F&B requirements, AV equipment, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Coordinate group functions via BEOs, PRS, Convention Resume, VIP forms, memos, and correspondence promptly.
- Establish and maintain client relationships.
- Maximize function space utilization.
- Promote hotel amenities and services to clients.
- Collaborate with other departments for client events.
- Work closely with F&B and Director of Sales to develop menus for clients that are appealing and are priced within the client's budget and the hotel's food and labor costs.
- Negotiate pricing of function space and banquet prices within established guidelines, sell, and advise client of best ways to maximize space and utilize hotel.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel's procedures and products. Stay updated on the hotel's competitors' product strengths and weaknesses.
- Attend industry trade shows and events.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts.
- Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of related hotel sales, catering, or event management experience required.
- Minimum 1 year of previous leadership experience required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Experience with group sales, BEO coordination, and client relationship management is essential.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships and drive revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations, banquet services, and event planning logistics.
- Experience with sales systems and tools; familiarity with Visual One Sales system is a plus.
- Open to travel for local market sales trips, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and events simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with budgeting, pricing strategies, and cost control in food & beverage operations.
- Willingness to travel for sales trips, trade shows, and client meetings.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to outstanding guest service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- Associate’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
