Position Summary:
St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th and 5th Grade Math Teacher to join our exceptional faculty for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of mathematics and a proven ability to engage and inspire young learners. This individual will be responsible for creating a dynamic and supportive classroom environment where students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and build essential problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, differentiated, and rigorous math lessons aligned with Diocesan and school curriculum standards for both 4th and 5th grade.
Foster a classroom environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, collaboration, and a love of mathematics.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.1
Maintain accurate and organized records of student performance.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Actively participate in school-wide initiatives, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Uphold and promote the Catholic mission and values of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral School in all aspects of teaching and interactions.
Supervise students in various school settings, including but not limited to the classroom, hallways, and playground.
Integrate technology effectively into math instruction.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
Valid Louisiana teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics curriculum and best practices in mathematics instruction.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred.
Experience teaching 4th and/or 5th grade mathematics preferred.
Familiarity with educational technology and its integration into the classroom.
A commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
