The Opportunity
We are working with a prominent Industrial Manufacturing client who is looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant to be a core part of their Accounting team working directly alongside the Controller and own crucial parts of the Accounting Operations.
This role is Hybrid with high work schedule flexibility.
What You’ll Do
- Month-End Close Leadership: Lead assigned segments of the monthly close cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting for multiple entities.
- Revenue Recognition Ownership: Manage tracking, complex accounting entries, analysis, and revenue recognition compliance in strict accordance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies.
- Cost & Inventory Accounting: Prepare quarterly inventory reserve analyses. Serve as the Finance Lead for the annual physical inventory process—managing planning, field execution, full reconciliations, and executive reporting.
- Margin & Performance Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly margin reports to business partners, identifying cost variances and performance trends to drive operational excellence.
- Audit & Financial Planning: Detailed review and reconciliation of critical balance sheet accounts; assist in preparing annual budgets, iterative forecasts, and supporting internal/external audit requirements.
- Process Optimization: Continually identify operational bottlenecks to increase workflow efficiency, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance internal controls.
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience: 5–10 years of progressive corporate accounting experience. A strong background operating within a manufacturing or industrial production environment is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. An active CPA license is a strong plus.
- Deep foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP, standard cost accounting, and inventory management principles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required; experience navigating enterprise manufacturing ERPs (such as QAD) and reporting systems is preferred.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, leadership potential, a proactive "sense of ownership" mindset, and the ability to translate financial numbers into operational insights for cross-functional teams.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel up to 5-10% to support regional business initiatives.
