Overview
We are seeking motivated, fast paced and dedicated Kitchen Staff to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for serving children our homecooked recipe driven meals. The Kitchen Staff will do all the food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment. Prior restaurant, hotel, or banquet experience is a plus, but we welcome candidates eager to develop their skills in hospitality and food service. This position offers an engaging work environment where teamwork and communication are essential.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Cooking and food presentation to ensure timely service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, including washing dishes, putting food orders away and keeping kitchen organized.
- Handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures to meet safety regulations
- Support the team during busy periods, including serving children and managing food orders
- Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies in the kitchen
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service
Skills
- Experience in food service, restaurant, or hotel environments preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction
- Experience with banquet service, catering, or hospitality industry is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a positive attitude
- Good physical stamina for standing long hours and performing manual tasks such as lifting and moving supplies
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety protocols
- Willing to follow menus and food program guidelines of Illinois for childcare programs
- Take redirection and guidance where needed
