Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, social skills, and physical development for school-aged children.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques.
- Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and field trips to ensure safety at all times.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's individual needs and developmental goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that complies with health and safety standards.
- Use first aid skills promptly to address minor injuries or health concerns; communicate effectively with emergency responders if necessary.
- Incorporate elements of special education or childhood development strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Help facilitate proper communication and help with problem solving
- Follow expected policies and protocols within the program
- Working towards helping with individualized behaviors and responding appropriately
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or childcare environments.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience and positive discipline techniques.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR preferred ; additional training in child behavior management or special education is a plus ( can obtain CPR and First aid)
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
- Ability to engage children through creative activities like theater, sports coaching, or arts and crafts.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or program needs; enthusiasm for fostering a fun learning environment.
