Tax Accountant

Seeking a Tax Accountant to join our clients accounting and finance team. This is a 4th generation, family run business sitting in Stratford, CT, though they have offices throughout CT and MA. (They can offer flexibility between offices for convenience)

This part-time role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in general ledger management, and has a strong understanding of tax filings.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries during month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Analyze financial statements to identify and address discrepancies or variances.

• Assist with the preparation and filing of property, sales/use, and corporate income tax returns.

• Compile and provide financial data to support audits and regulatory reviews.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• General ledger accounting and tax preparation exposure

• Familiarity with manual bookkeeping procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Comet, or Turbo Tax.
