We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team for contract to hire in Fairfield, Iowa. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and optimizing database systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability. Responsibilities:
• Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL environments.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize system efficiency.
• Perform regular database backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues to maintain system stability.
• Manage database security by setting access controls and monitoring for unauthorized activities.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Conduct capacity planning to ensure databases can handle future growth and workload demands.
• Apply patches and updates to database systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning techniques and database optimization.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
• Solid understanding of database security protocols and access controls.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with capacity planning and scaling database systems.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining technical documentation for database processes.
